» ENCOUNTERS SXSW Shooting Livien Premiere     |     14 March 2005     |     Tina I MET DOMINIC MONAGHAN!!!!! It was SO COOL!!! I just hugged him, got his autograph and a picture with him!!! I saw Shooting Livien at the SXSW film festival! During the Q&A session after the screening, they answered mine!! I asked what their fave parts of filming were, and Dom said making the friends he did while shooting and eating sushi at 3 a.m. I was laughing so hard!! I couldn't get a digital camera, so a disposable one had to do. Oh well, I was pushing people out of the way like a rabid paparazzi to get to him!! Usually, I'm a quiet, kind of reserved person.  But that night I was NOT myself- I had to get to him at all costs. It was reather fun.  When I finally got to the front of the crowd, (a mere 6 or 7 feet away from the Dom-ness)  there were these girls next to me, who looked older than me by a few years. (They had sat behind me during the movie, squealing and whispering the whole time) I turned and asked them quite calmly if they were Dom fans as well, and they made all these squealy noises and fanned themselves and jumped up and down and nodded and...they were CRYING like 12 year olds at a Backstreet Boys concert!! They were holding paper and pens and whispering his name, of course he didn't hear them. So I just shouted "HEY DOM!!" and he waved and came over. I think I'm their hero now. I got him to come over, and since the girls were making a bigger scene than I was, he naturally went to them first. We were all trembling like scared Chihuahuas! (And they were still squealing and hyperventilating and crying) When he reached around to hug the girl closest to me for the picture, his whole back and arm was like pressed up against me (it was a crowded room) and I was like moving around a little just to feel him lol. He didn't seem to notice. Then he turned to me and said "Hi luv," and I smiled and said "Hi luv" right back!! Then I didn't have a pen that worked, so I took the sharpie from one of the squealy girls next to me. I had him sign my cardboard camera wrapper-thing (since I didn't have a picture of him…oops.), and while doing so I told him I loved Lost and watch it religiously every week, (He said he was very flattered) and then I asked him politely if I could take a picture. Before he could finish saying "Yeah," I hopped up and put my arm around him! Then I handed my camera to some lady to take the picture. Dom laughed. We took a really nice picture together. Then I thanked him profusely, hugged one more time, and went on my way, smiling and still shaking. Much earlier (during the Q&A session), when I was sitting down on the stairs/floor to take pics of Dom, I felt someone bump into my leg (it was sticking out a little to stabilize myself so I didn't tip over lol) kind of hard. I looked up, and ELIJAH WOOD was standing there!! I felt so bad!! I went "I'm SO sorry!" he just laughed and said "It's ok" and kept walking. I sat there for a few seconds thinking "Elijah Wood just tripped on me..." then about 10 more seconds later, I felt like slapping myself in the face. Why didn't you stand up and take a picture with him, dummy? Anyway, he was really nice about it. When he first arrived before the movie started, Dom and he jumped up to hug each other, it was really sweet. So now flash forward to after I'd finished my little escapade with Dom, I went and stood as close as I could to where Elijah was standing (in an area that was kinda for VIPs ...except the only barriers were Christmas lights on the ground, it was rather silly) with my little paper and pen and camera with this pouty look on my face...then the...(I wouldn't call them police but you know what I mean...movie people,) started to usher the moviegoers out for the next screening. I was one of the last to leave, naturally, still trying to get Elijah to come over. He was being talked to, (looking rather bored, I must say) but I did get a smile and wave out of him!! So I was happy then and skipped out of the room. So yeah, that was my TOTALLY awesome Spring Break adventure...best night of my life lol...I still have the sharpie I got from that girl...lol it's going in the frame with his autograph and the picture.
