I can use one word to describe this event: insane. Utter, complete, bamboozled insanity. Okay, so maybe hot could describe it as well (in more ways than one). I'm a newbie to the whole celeb-event thing, and this was my first time to see Dom in person *squee* as well as the Dom fans. I'll try to keep this short and sweet, so here goes: I got to the park about an hour after it opened because of church (sorry, not even Dom takes precedence over faith!) By the time that I found the photo op, the line was full and a standby line was curving around the corner. So I left my mom and brother--who get major props for being such troopers--in the standby line, whilst I rushed over to the stage armed with my jumbo paparazzi camera to wait for the man of the hour. There was no doubt when he arrived on the scene. As he obligingly moved up to the stage, signing autographs, etc. (what a sweetie!) I learned the meaning of "seething mass of humanity" and I got very close to some total strangers. Woohoo! Bonding! Together in our Dom adoration, we are one!! Sorry, got caught up in the moment.. anyways, my mom, brother and I headed over to the Golden Dreams theater to wait in line...in the sun...for a ridiculous amount of time...during the summer in So. California...aren't all of you who couldn't make it GLAD??? I'm sure a transcript will be floating around very soon, so I'll just give my impressions of the time. Dom, of course, was his incredibly adorable and cheeky self--from teasing "Evie" about being one of the guys to making Matthew Fox die of embarrassment from telling about fart bball. Evangeline was the cutest girl ever, the kind you want to stick in your pocket and carry around with you. She was so confident and well-spoken for this being her first large (maybe even professional) role. Harold and Matthew seem like the sweetest guys, and were incredibly tolerant of all the Dom-fans. (I felt so sorry for Dom's costars...none of the fans seemed to care about anything but Dom...I just wanted to give them huge hugs and say "I love you too!!". I saw some girls run right past Matthew, who was waiting to shake their hands. Ouch. Ladies, can we please not be rude to them? They are Dom's costars and they seem like the coolest bunch of people ever!) I couldn't wish for a better group for Dom to be working with, and I am so excited for him! The preview was great, from what I could hear--thanks to all the insane fans who screamed every time Dom came on for giving me a good amount of laughter. I laughed almost as hard at the craziness of Dom-fans as I did at Dom's fake American accent. Sigh. I love that man. Well, that's about it of my Dom-goodness. After leaving the theater, I passed him walking outside, obviously trying to get somewhere while signing stuff for the gaggle of girls surrounding him. Now that takes some mad multitasking skills. Unfortunately, I didn't get to stay for the pilot, but I can't wait for it to come out! To all who couldn't be there, have fun living vicariously!
