» ENCOUNTERS Comic-Con     |     24 July 2004     |     Stephanie So this was my first time being at the Comic-Con. I was soo clueless about what to do and where to start. I sooo knew that I didn't want to miss the panel for the Lost cast tho and I didn't want to miss seeing Dom. So my mom and I head over to where it was held at. When we get there, we're told that it was moved to Room 20. So I was like Oh no! It's all the way on the other side! So we head over there. When we finally get there I see that the room isn't really filled up yet. Like maybe only the first section of seats. So my mom and I make our way to find seats in the second section and aren't that bad. So the pilot airs. I swear there were soo many Dom fans in the room because everytime he showed up onscreen, all of them would scream. I too would scream along with them. lol. I loved the pilot. It was awsome. Can't wait for the rest of the season. So then the Q&A session was next. Everyone came out with Dom being last. And of course when  he came out all the girls screamed. I swear you could see soo many flashes from the cameras just going off like crazy when Dom came out. What was really cute was that Dom had his own camera and started taking pics of the audience which was awesome. After people from the audience asked the panel questions about the show. Some questions were serious and some were funny. Dom was asked a lot of questions. Well  I thought he was the one that got asked alot. But that's just me. So after the panel was over I head over to where the Inkworks booth was which is on the first floor to go see if Dom and the rest of the cast were there to meet the fans and sign autographs. I get there thinking that I'll be able to meet them. Well was I shocked as ever when a woman that's working there asks me if I have a ticket. She told me that the people  were supposed to get tickets at 9 am. With me being all new to this Comic-Con stuff  I was in shock cuz I didn't know we were supposed to have one. So I told her I didn't. I was soo pissed and sad at the same time cuz I thought I wasn't gonna meet Dom. So eventually Dom and the rest came out. The only thing I could do was take pictures which is what I did. During all this tho I was gonna meet one of my friends that I knew and chatted with for 2 years on the internet named G. This was our first time meeting ever. We'd end up calling eachother every so often because we were on the same floor but at different booths. She'd be at the New Line Cinema booth and I was at the Inkworks booth. We eventually ended up meeting at the Inkworks booth. Thank goodness for her tho. It was a good thing I called her when I did cuz I wasn't at the booth anymore and she was and she told me that they might give out more tickets to people to meet the cast and stuff. So of course I hurry to the booth as fast as I can. When I got there I asked the same woman if they were giving out more tickets and she told me they might. So I wait a little bit and I see her with 3 tickets. She gives 2 of them away. Then she has one left and asks if there's someone whose alone or by themselves. There were other fans that wanted it too but I think were a group of friends or something. So I told her I was alone which I was and she gave it to me! I was soo happy! So I fall in line and I end up calling G who was actually like 3 people in front of me.That's how she and I ended up meeting. lol. I was sooo nervous. I mean I was going to meet Dom! It's like what do you say to him? I didn't know. lol. When it was almost my turn I swear all I did was stare at Dom. But I esp. stared at is eyes. They're soo blue. I guess they just hypnotized me or something lol. So it was my turn and I go up towards the cast but in front of Dom and I say 'Hi'. All of them said hi back but Dom's 'hi' is the loudest. Sounded very enthusiastic too. Then he said 'How are you? Then I said 'I'm ok'. I was a little tired cuz I was at the booth awhile and did a whole lot of walking. I guess it showed cuz Dom noticed and said to me 'You look tired'. And I said 'Yeah I am'. Then the entire cast went 'awww'. And then Dom asked me 'Why'. The stupid person I am just said 'I don't know'. *smacks forehead* But then he said to me 'I'm a lil tired too actually'. So they were done signing and I took the poster. Then I said bye to them and they said bye back. And that was it. Oh and I forgot to say that when Dom was there in front of me I took a pic of him. hehe. I guess being tired was a good thing for me. I swear I didn't even know what to say to Dom and me looking tired was the thing that had us have that lil conversation. lol. I'm soo lucky tho cuz if it weren't for my friend G telling me about the tickets thing I wouldn't have met Dom. I'm thankful to her and the woman who gave me the last ticket. Meeting Dom was such an awesome thing to ever happen to me. It was definitely one of the best days of my life. Dom is soo down to earth and such a sweetie. Just made me fall in love with him even more. It was a short meet but hey I wouldn't trade it for anything. I'm just soo happy that I finally got to meet Dom!
