First time at Comic-Con, and not my last! My friend Patty and I decided to go when I looked at the guest list from last year and saw all the LOTR boys on there! Not a hard decision. We had a hard time getting tickets for a lot of the signings the first 2 days because: a) we didn't know you needed to GET a ticket for some of these, and b) when we finally started figuring THAT out, we were always too late!
So, Thursday night I suggested that before we left we go to the Inkworks booth and find out if we needed a ticket for the Lost signing (thank goodness we checked). We woke up at 5:30AM so we could get to the convention by 7AM-ish (zzzzzzzzzzzz). Well, we made it in and were probably within the first 80 or so people to the front. RELEASE THE HOUNDS!
They opened up and it was like a Bridal sale at Macy's and then some! I quickly got separated from my pack of friends thanks to some big and slow people, although I made it up once inside, and quickly usurped Patty's lead! (Mind you, I had on 6 inch stacked boots, tight pants and lugged a 20 lb backpack - NOT an easy outfit to run in). We made it in line, and all was good.... we got our tickets. Unsure of the Newline policy of tickets, I quickly hauled big boots to that booth area, only to find out that there were no tickets, just a "line" to be formed at 11:30. Yeah - good planning on that one guys. I decided to stay close (and miss the Lost panel) to see if I could find out more on the Newline area. I also kept thinking it was an hour earlier than it was, so that didn't help (I thought I missed the Lost panel, although it was still going on -blonde what can I say). Well, long story shorter - we (Patty and I) were in the RIGHT spot when they decided to get the "line" moving (it was a very wide line if you ask me, more of a blob-ish line). And...... we got tickets for Billy and David - WOO HOO!!!
So, after my quick moment with those 2 guys (shook Billy's hand once I regained my language skills and remembered my name, and had a nice conversation w/ David about my tattoos) and hauled boot back to Inkworks. No line? Confusing.... but that was fine. Once up there, I had all of 10 seconds with Dom (and the actress next to him... sorry not sure of her name). Again, conversations of tattoos ensued, and then I was abruptly shoved off to the side from the Inkworks "thugs". So, the conversation was never finished.
I thought about hanging around a bit and going back, but I was so excited about seeing those 3 that I felt sick and giddy and needed to come back down to earth. Should have stayed close by - oh well, live and learn. Did I mention I also won a ticket and met Jude Law? I guess you could say I had a GREAT Saturday hanging with some pretty beautiful men. ahhhhhh. |
