» ENCOUNTERS Comic-Con     |     24 July 2004     |     Kris Well my friend Eimi and I had never been to comic con so we didnt really know what we were doing. When they finally let people in we rushed to where the panel for Lost" was gonna be and waited in line. We met this really nice couple from Simi Valley and we talked about how it was our first time and how I really wanted to see Dominic and that people were saying he wasnt gonna be there. I also told him about how my parents originally said no because they didnt want to go that far away. The guy said, "well do you have your ticket for the autographs?" I had no idea we needed them and I got so sad cuz I figured it was too late to get any and the guy who is the nicest man in the world was like, "ok you know waht since this is your first time im gonna do something nice. when it was our first time, we met people that did a nice thing for us so we're gonna do the same." HE GAVE ME HIS TICKET!!! I kept telling him that it was ok and I didnt feel right taking it but he just slipped it in my hand and said, "your first time is supposed to be memorable and now you know its really meant to be for you to meet Dom". I kept thanking him over and over again and he and his girlfriend stayed with us through the panel making sure we knew how to get to where Dom was and giving us really great advice. Finally we watched "Lost" and I went downstairs to see a place for myself for the autograph. Eimi met me after the q&a was a bit over. She didnt have a ticket which I felt bad for cuz she really likes Matthew Fox. the security guy finally starts sending people in line and I was one of the first ones! Woohoo! Hehe. I get in front of Dom and the one thing I managed to say was "hi Dom!" and he was really nice and said"hi how are you?". he noticed my shirt and was like, "I love your shirt!" it was a Beckham football jersey that I got in England last month and I told him I wore it just for him haha. After the autograph Eimi and I ate cuz we were really hungry and after we went back to thr inkworks booth to see if they were still there cuz she wanted really good pics of Matthew Fox. So we're waiting and Dom walks by me and I don't even notice! Matthew Fox did the same to my friend so she got really upset and said, "we're waiting here till they come out!" which we did and Dom was really quick about going around. We just kept following him lol. When he stopped at activision, I think thats what its called, I just went up to him and said, "can i have a hug??" and he hugged me. Make the long story short, we were very persistent and got our pics taken with Dom. After about the fourth time we stopped him, we decided to leave him alone cuz we didn't want him to get annoyed haha. But yea, I'll never forget that amazing couple that helped us out. I guess it really was meant to be. In the pics, I'm the one with the glasses and Eimi is the one in the halter hehe.
